How do you use "of clause"?

Hi,
I am having a problem with the "of clause".

(I am not asking the genitive use of "of")

According to the dictionary, the word "of" has meaning like "belong to", "contain", "connected with" or "about" etc... (in some dictionaries, it has meaning like "from" too) But it's not enough explaination for me to fully understand the use of "of".

I do understand when I see sentences like "a glass of water". (a glass that contains water)

Even though I added the "of" in the sentence "I am not asking the genitive use of" as preposition I only guessed that I might be able to put it there instead of other preposition such as "for" since I have seen the phrase "use of" so many times before.

In the following examples

i)David accused Matt of stealing.
ii)Jenny accused her sister of cheating at cards.
iii)He was very rude and it was something I never would have expected of him
iv) product of usa
v) use of

At (i),(ii)and (v) do you add the "of", is that because it has got meaning of "about" or is that because the "of" describes the reason for accusing instead of it has meaning like "about"?

At(iii),and (iv) do you add the "of", is that because it's has got the same meaning as "from"?

Whenever, I see the "of clause", I only guess with the meanings provided in the dictionary so it's really like puzzling.

Well, so could anyone please help me understand it?

Thanks.
