Hi please tell me how to say this?

My internet connection died while I was watching a video online, and
1 the video froze on a blurry still.
2 the image the video froze on was blurry.
3 the image on the screen when the internet died was blurry.

1 and 2 sound natural to me.

I don't think of the internet dying, so I prefer this:

Shouldn't it be:
1 The video froze to a blurry still.
Also, I am quite unclear with #2. That froze on seems to disturb me. Can you help me out?

I've only just noticed your supplementary question.

1. I could accept to as well as on.

2. How about this: 'The image on which the video froze was blurry.'

Or 'The frozen image on the video was blurry.'
