How do you say this?

Hi
my colleague who was working as employee has been given different tasks now.
Now he takes care about repairing things that get out of order. How do you say this in English? I think you have a special verb to explain this situation.

Thank you for any advice

If he is your colleague, it is understood that he is an employee. I would say this:
My coworker has been reassigned to take care of the equipment repair

thank you for all the replies.

It is very clear now although I am not so clear with the use of "out of order" related to files, could you please check if my sentence makes sense?
"The files you have sent are out of order, please send them in the correct sequence" does it work? Thank you so much!

In matters like this, so that the person that was reassigned to other duties does not take offense, it is generally better to focus on a positive rather than a negative. So I would not say "not able or competent enough to do ...." You can try something like, "he is better suited for...."

"After ___ (name) Fair, my boss realized that ____(colleague's name) would be better suited for
