How do you say that a stabbing pain is suddenly felt all over the body?

Any good phrasal verbs to say that?

Top answer

The term "stabbing" suggests a pain as if a pointed thing, eg a knife, has been stuck into one specific part of your body. I don't see how you can have a stabbing pain all over your body. Perhaps a sudden pain, a sharp pain, an acute pain.
