Isn't there a specific verb for that concept?
You have 'confess' which means admit to a wrongdoing. Isn't there a verb to mean cause to confess? For example when you put a person under pressure to admit what he has done.

You could be looking for "to extract a confession" if it's a matter of a police tactic.
