How do you read it aloud?

If you see 's/he' used in a sentence, how would you say it aloud?

Example - Does s/he mean that nothing has changed?

Would you read that as,

"Does she or he mean that nothing has changed?"

OR

"Does he or she mean that nothing has changed?"

Thanks.

I don't like the use of it in written form, for this very reason. I would simply read it "he or she"; I'd write it that way as well.

Me too. Or use "they."
