How do you pronounce the s in measure?

Can someone give me some help or can you recommend some links about this topic? One of my friends from the USA said, it contains the sound of /z/ in zoo. Is that correct ?

No, it's not quite that. It's more like the second g in garage.

The word "measure" has the rarest sound in English. In truespel it is ~zh, for ~mezher. Hear it on talking dictionaries, like thefreedictionary.com. There is no standard spellinlg of it. Words such as "beige" have the sound as well.
