How do you pronounce my name?

Hello, my name is George Tiganus, I am from Romania and I really need to know how my last name could be pronounced in English.

The romanian pronounciation involves some letters that don't exist in the English language.
If I told you my name is "Tiganus", I bet you wouldn't even try to pronounce it Emotion: smile

So I am very interested in finding out how do you say "Tiganus" when you read it?
Does it look odd and impossible to pronounce? Emotion: smile

Thank you very much for your help.
George

A caveat: Anglicized pronunciation is different from your native pronunciation. Anglicized pronunciation: ta?'ge?nus

a? = like in tiger
e? = like in yay, hey
u = like in bus

That's a mistake on your part: look at all English words borrowed into Turkish, and see how they are pronounced, and how they are stressed or not stresse

If I heard you say your name, I would try to say it the same way. However, let's say I was handed a list of names to read and had no idea how to say them in their native way. I would say:

tih-GAIN-us

There was a famous diver named Greg Louganis - I would make it rhyme with that, if I didn't know better.

I agree, I'd say tih-GAIN-us.
