How do you compliment someone on a well written idea?

I asked someone a question and he came up with a good idea and observation on it. It was a point of view I had never thought of and I thought it was an excellent response. But I didn't know how to compliment him on it besides saying "good point"

Why not say just what you've said here? You came up with a good idea. It's a point of view I'd never thought of, and it was an excellent response.
