How do you address to an unknown person?

How do you address to an unknown person?
For example, if you want to ask a person on the street how to get to some place.
Or, if you're going to ask a salesman/shop assistant about anything - what do you say first to get his/her attention.
I know only one way: "Excuse me, " then my question. Are there any other ways?
Thanks in advance.
