How do i use 'so'?

'So go ahead, let your hair down and embrace the magic of disco. '
or should it be:
'So go ahead.Let your hair down and embrace the magic of disco. '
I dislike the last form, but 'so go ahead' and 'let your hair down and embrace the magic of disco' are independent clauses, so using just a comma as a separator is wrong?

The whole think seems kind of awkward but I would have to see the rest of the sentence to be sure. I would say write something like; so go ahead and let your hair down, and enjoy the magic of disco. Either that or drop the "go ahead" thing.

  • It is an issue of style, but I would also drop "the magic".

Nice solution, BUT, I want to emphasize disco, (i guess that's where you needed the rest of the sentences). The purpose of this sentence is to give an informal ending to an otherwise educational piece. so i'd like to keep 'go ahead' as it sets the tone of the sentence , and 'magic' is obviously needed. What i'd really appreciate if someone can tell me for sure, citing what grammar rules are being v

Using [] to indicate something the reader has to infer to understand what you have written produces:

So [you] go ahead, [you]let your hair down and [you] embrace the magic of disco. '

What you actually have is three independent clauses, sentences really, that don't fit together very well. Maybe spin the first one off as separate and expand it into, So go ahead and enjoy yourself
