How do I say this?

How do I say this?

"Thank you for (your/the) new year gift." ---> (the gift is a box of candy) How do I put this in the sentence?

Is it correct to say,

"Thank you for your new year gift of a big box of candy. We've already unwrapped it and tried. It assorted with different taste and all are very good. We enjoyed it while seating back and watching on the TV. Very yummy!!! We love it so much"?

Please check and correct my grammar to make it sounds natural and smooth. Thank you!
