How do I interpret "It is then of course interesting to know if the expected value (the mean) of the estimate then is equal to the true value."?

Dear all,
I hope you are well,

I have a query when I read the book.
But I can't interpret as following,

"It is then of course interesting to know if the expected value (the mean) of the estimate then is equal to the true value."

How do I interpret ?

In this sentence, #2 and #1 are exactly the same.

You may find it more useful in this case to post your question on a mathematics forum.
