How do I correct this sentence?

How many times have you looked at another sister and thought to yourself, ‘her life seems so perfect? She’s polished, successful, confident, and in control. She doesn't have a care in the world. I wish that were me’.

This seems tricky, because you have a complete thought making up the question, while you have separate statements within it. I think your second option accomplishes that better than the first.
