How do I calculate my CGPA to percentage? My final comes out to be 7.16. I study in UPES Dehradun. I am skeptical whether to multiply it by 10 or 9.5.

To convert your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) at UPES to a percentage, use the following formula:

Percentage = (CGPA - 0.5) × 10

For example, if your CGPA is 8.5, you would calculate your percentage as:

Percentage = (8.5 - 0.5) × 10 = 80%

This formula is commonly applied to convert CGPA into a percentage, with the 0.5 adjustment being a standard practice in many Indian institutions, including UPES.

However, conversion formulas can vary between universities and programs. If you have any concerns or need confirmation, it's advisable to consult your academic advisor or contact the UPES administration to ensure you have the correct method for your specific situation.
