How did it?

Ashley: Did you know? Jennifer got divorced.
Dorothy: Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Her husband was such a bastard.
Ashley: She got custody of her daughter Lucy, so they can live together.
Dorothy: She's 7 now, right? How did take it?
Ashley: I think she took it pretty well. She'll be better off without her father.

I'd like to know here if "take" means "consider."
Thank you in advance for your help.
