can anybody help me with this sentence?

"How could you do it"-can this sentence mean " how were you able to do it?" or it just means 'how dare you did it?'

It depends on context, of course, but it normally means

When I see the sentence in print, "How dare you?" seems most likely, but if I were hearing it, I think I would know the difference by the stress. The dare version, expressing outrage would have strong stress on "could" or "do". The person who was just curious about how something could be done would speak with less stress.
