How could I say "A man who runs girls all the time" ?

Hello all !

I'm french and I don't know how to say the wording "coureur de jupons" in english.

I'm looking for some words with the same pejorative meaning, it's a man who runs girls all the time.

Please, does someone has an idea ?

Thank for reading !

Hi, A pimp. Be careful with this, it's not a nice word at all. Clive

Clive -- do you actually know that that is the French expression for pimp? When I read the original question I had no idea what "a man who runs girls" meant -- I thought perhaps it meant "a man who runs after girls" -- like "skirt-chaser." I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong; I just wondered if it was based on prior (linguistic) knowledge.

Hi,

Thanks, Khoff.

I was just looking at the English, 'A man who runs girls'.

When I look at the French, I see that the poster really means 'A man who runs after girls', in which case I'd say 'a womanizer'. The slang term today is 'a player'. Your term 'skirt chaser' is also OK, although I don't hear it often these days.

Again, thanks for questioni

Please, how do you explain the TV show 'Pimp my Ride'? They are group of people who renovate cars, especially rugged ones.

Slang.

Perhaps:

ride: car

"beautify/renovate" and advertise a car, for selling them to others

as a verb

1.) to pimp something out is to make it look very ghettofab and all that nifty stuff

Hi,

The original meaning of 'pimp' is someone who brutalizes, degrades and exploits women.

Before you use the word in the sense, discussed above, of making something fancy, you should be aware that there are many people who find offensive such a sanitizing and trivializing of the word.

Best wishes, Clive

Un coureur de jupons, c'est "a skirt chaser".
Un maquereau ou un souteneur, c'est "a pimp".
