How come you got an invitation and not me?

Hi,

I am wondering why it can be possible to use "and not me".

So how come you got an invitation and not me?

That sentence is from https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/how-come

Of course I understand that sentence's meaning.

You got an invitation, and I didn't. So Why did you get it?

Hi That's an interesting question. You can use 'me' at the end of a sentence to show whether you include yourself in what you have said before. It's an idiom: - No one likes crowded trains, certainly not me - If you are opening a vegetarian restaurant, you can count me in - Many people are paying £100 to see that, not me Hope this helps Dave
