Hello Philip!
Thank you for your swift reply.
I used 'Fancy that' and I suppose it is British English, informal or becoming old-fashioned term to show that the speaker is shocked by something.
So how would you express the same meaning instead?

I know the expression, and it's widely used here as well. It just seemed a little odd here. No problem. I think Clive's response takes care of my confusion. Use it after a statement rather than after a question.
