How can you differentiate a demonstrative pronoun from a demonstrative adjective?

CAn we say that we can say that a certain word is used as a demonstrative pronoun if a noun follows after it like These apples are good.

And everytime a pronouns is followed by a linking verb then it is used as demonstrative pronoun like This is my watch.?
