How can I understand this sentence?

This is from my book:
"I shan't know you when you return. ['I predict that I will now know ...']"
That is one example of auxiliary negation or main verb negation.
I can't figure out the meanings of that sentence even with its paraphrase.
I guess its meanings is "I will be unable to recognize you when you return."
Am I right in thinking in that way?

Could you help me, please?
