How can I turn this sentence into nonfinte?

Can this sentence be changed into nonfinite clause please?

"The years of running — consistently choosing the second path — have taught me discipline and perseverance"

I have turned it into nonfinte but I am not sure if it is correct.

"Choosing the second path, I have been taught discpline and perseverance."

Many Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

It seems you don't want to change the whole sentence into a non-finite clause, but to change the sentence so that it contains one. Your sentence in red has the non-finite clause choosing the second path, so you have written a sentence with a non-finite clause. I think that's all you wanted to do, right? So you're finished!
