Hi, Soufan. Welcome to the Forum.
If you read as much as possible, and look up everything you are unsure about, you will be astonished at how much you'll learn.

It is OK to say " I wrote it" when talking of the past and in the First person i.e. something you did yourself . It is also OK to say, "It was written" when talking of the past and dealing with something in the third person, i.e. describing something that was done by someone else. You are on the right track Soufan.

I believe it is also okay to use "I have written" if it needs to be in the past perfect tense.

"I wrote" would indicate past tense also eg.. I wrote a letter to my family in Beirut last week.

I wrote ( means you just did in the near past like a minute, an hour or a day but not that long ago) and I have written only refers to a wider time span no matter how long ago ( a week , a month, or so no...). any way keep trying and for better English you can consult with Oxford Advanced Learner's with usage.
