How can I say to describe a dog/cat and a baby?

Hi, guys!

As I am an international student, I'm not sure how can I say to describe a 'cute' dog/cat, and a baby.

Can I say 'She(he) is very cute/pretty/adorable!' to the dog/cat, and the baby? I heard someone says 'she is so adorable.' to the baby's mom looking at her baby.

I always wonder that these adjectives like cute, pretty, sweet, and adorable are appropriate to describe the animals or the baby.

Thank you Emotion: smile

Not to the animal or the baby, but to the owner or the parent. Yes. 'cute' and 'pretty' are common. 'adorable', in my experience, is used almost exclusively by women.
