How can I say?

Hi!

I'm doing a translation and I have a question: is it wright to say:"Palazzo Venier was often home to visiting people such as Surgent and De Mayer". I mean that these people lived in this house only occasionaly.

If you can help me I would be really pleased.

Thank you.
