How can I re-word this?

Hi!

How can I re-word this sentence?

The applicant states that the ship “XXXX”, currently named "YYYYY, shipped in the Barcelona port in 2011 where he later, namely, on July 2, 2014 left the ship, as his labor agreement expired and where it was duty of the company to pay the salary.

Thanks!

It is not completely clear what you want to say. However, this is one way to word it: The applicant states that he joined the crew of the ship “XXXX”, currently named "YYYYY, at the port of Barcelona in 2011. On July 2, 2014, he left the ship at that same port because his labor agreement had expired, at which point it was duty of the company to pay the salary owed to him.

  • I hope this helps.
