How can I re-phrase this sentence?

How can I re-phrase this sentence as it seems a little bit clumsy?

I will provide them with financial support and I will help to raise, love, and cherish him.

If it's a divorce, then this might work. Since I don't know if "I" is the man or woman, you can use the relevant pronouns in place of "spouse":

I will provide my former spouse and my son with financial support. I will love and cherish my son and help him/her to raise him.
