How can I make this sentence more concise?

The sentence is like this:
If we decimated a sequence by N, then the time duration of the decimated sequence is 2 times the time duration the original xD(n) sequence.
In contrast, if we interpolates a sequence by N, then the time duration of the interpolated sequence is 1/2 times the time duration of the original xD(n) sequence.
