How can i introduce this quote and do i have a good analysis?

“I keep picturing these little kids playing some games in this big field of rye...and nobody’s around-nobody big, I mean-except me. And I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff”... Holden basically wants to stop children from falling into losing their innocence and becoming an adult. He wants to be the one to prevent them from growing up into the adult world, but he realizes that he can’t prevent that

That looks like a very good analysis to me. I assume this is from Catcher In The Rye? I haven't read it yet, but it sounds like a good story.
Some small suggestions:
"Holden ~~basically~~ wants to stop children from falling into losing their innocence and becoming ~~an adult~~ adults. He wants to be the one ~~to prevent~~ who prevents them from growing up into the adult world, but he realizes that he can’t prevent that."
BASICALLY is a filler word, a bit like LIKE, that adds no information and only conveys non-specificity (vagueness). Used in this way, it is not really appropriate in written work.
I would change "... to stop children from falling into losing their innocence" to something a bit more grammatical and clear. For example, "... to stop children from losing their innocence (in his analogy, 'falling off the cliff') and becoming ..."
ADULTS (plural) is required to match CHILDREN.
TO PREVENT, in this sense, is casual and not exactly grammatical.
"growing up into the adult world" is not strictly correct, but the meaning is clear and I can't think of a better way to put it. Perhaps "growing up AND ENTERING the adult world".
Those two dashes in the quote (between AROUND and NOBODY, and between MEAN and EXCEPT, should be em-dashes, which are long and thin. The way you've written them, they are hyphens. Plain text doesn't have an em-dash, so your approach is acceptable. Other ways of expressing em-dashes in plain text are "around--nobody" (two hyphens, no spaces) and "around - nobody" (one hyphen with a space on each side).
As for introducing the quote, I don't really know. Perhaps you could say "In an important piece of imagery, Holden says: "I keep picturing ..."".
