How can I decide it easier?

Hi,

I see some expressions with what look to be restricting phrases in them and want to know what I can do to distinguish clearly (if that is possible) whether put the article the is right or putting the article a is right?

e.g.

An (or The) attitude of positiveness

A (or The) lack of security

A (or The) material of more general interest

A (or The) nature of human being

Look at the context. If the thing is specific and you must point it out/separate from the mass of other things, use "the."
