How can I ask for an Over Time

Hi friends


My boss had given me a big list of task to be completed with deadline, I wanna inform him about the size of the list and also claiming over time to complete the task, is below correct: -


Dear Mr. ______


As you can see from the attachment, the list is quite big which needs time in order to refer back to the old files, documents, then to reconcile and balance the statements … Therefore, it need more time to complete the task and if it need to be sorted early then kindly approve me a over time

The verb form ('it needs') had to change and 'overtime' is a mass noun so doesn't use 'a' as a determiner.
