Hello!
Could you help me, please?
Can I say "I am very well" if somebody asks me "How are you?"?
I thought that "well" means "healthy" in this case and would sound funny as the answer to such a question. At the same time I watched "Pride and Prejudice" (2005) and there Lizzy says "Are you well, mr Darcy?" when they meet. So which is right to answer "I am very well" or "I am very good" or both?
Thank you!
" when they meet. This is not modern English. English has changed since Jane Austen wrote this.
