How americans pronounce the word "women"?

It seems that women read as [wimin] in British English; but an american does't say the word that way. Am I right?

From my experience - they say it exactly the same way as British people do. (I'm British BTW)

Some Women = Sum Wimin
A Woman = Ah Wughmin

I have a Standard American accent. It's the same in England.

Being an American, I have only heard women pronounced wimin, as the Brits do. I am from the upper midwest of the U.S.A.

No, that is incorrect. Americans say "Wimin" as well. I am an american and everybody I have ever heard speak says "wimin." If they pronounced it differently, I would give them a number of strange looks.

The standard/general American pronunciation is /'wImIn/, just as in British English RP.
