How am I/I am supposed to

Hello, may i ask which is the correct one:
"I don't know how am I supposed to carry that."
"I don't know how I am supposed to carry that."
I was thinking when questions are changed to statements, the subject and the verb should switch, like
"how poor am I?"
"This is how poor I am."
So i dont know which should be grammatically correct.
Please help guys Thx lot Emotion: stick out tongue
