How about 'so far' in this particular context?

Hi,

I've been wondering if 'so far' is OK here, where the context is specific and not refering to general experience.

I've been waiting here for 2 hours but she hasn't come so far.

Is it okay or should I say: (...) she hasn't come yet.

The same in questions; is the following possible at all?

Has she come so far?

I'd be grateful for a native speaker's opinion on that.

Thank you Clive!

I wasn't quite sure about that. Sometimes they sound good to my ear and sometimes they don't.

It's just that I always tried to think of a reason for 'so far' in a sentence. For example, I always thought that there must be a number or quantity that is 'achieved' by an action, like in:

So far I've visited 15 out of all European countries.
