'host sb at fund-raisers'

Hello, this is my first time here. This website is so cool.

The following sentence is from www.nyt.com.

" They glide easily through the corridors of power in Washington, with a number of them hosting Mr. Obama at fund-raisers while also visiting the White House on policy matters and official business. "

What does it mean by, "...hosting Mr. Obama at fund-rasers..."? Do it mean hosting him at fund-raisers' places?
