Hospital

Hello Teachers,

I am aware of OR (operating room), ICU. But what are the places where patients are kept in bed? Is it the ward? Do we just say the patient was in the ward?

Also what is the place outside the ward? Do we just call it the corridor or veranda, as we do in home? Or, is there a specific term for this?

Thank you.
