horror films don't do it for me

Hi,

If someone says, "Something doesn't do it for me", does it simply mean s/he doesn't like it like the following example?

Michal: Well, what about Nightmare on Elm Street? They're showing that again here.
Alice: No thanks, horror films don't do it for me.

Another example, If someone says, "Many people think Tom Cruise is fantastic but he doesn't do it me", then does it simply "I don't like him (even though many people think he is fantastic)"? or Can it also mean "he isn't my style"

Thanks in advance.
