Hope wish

CalifJimAs far as I know, I wish I would only occurs when I am the passive recipient of someone else's action.

I wouldn't know this and think 'would' is used in addition to simple past tense for future wishing. This is a helpful, valuable tip from you, and it is appreciable that you always read such difficult-to-read posts from likes of us and answers to the poster's full understanding. I don't have to say I wish I would receive such tricky guidance on this forum!
