hope, subjunctive or indicative?

I hope that he (finish finishes ) his homework on time.

Which is the correct choice?If the sentence is rewritten as "I hope that he will finish his homework on time", is it also correct? Thanks for your help.

Depends on context. E.g. you might also have:

I hope (that) he will have finished his homework by the time we need to leave, at about 7PM.

Indicative present or future is good. Not subjunctive.
