Hooked to/on

I am hooked to that game.

I am hooked on that game.

I said the former and was corrected by a friend, if you are really enjoying something you are apparently hooked on it. Not to it, I don't really understand why though Emotion: stick out tongue

Could anyone shed some light please?

Thanks..

Hi SPI Saying that you are "hooked on a game" is a bit like saying that you are "addicted to playing the game". You enjoy playing it very much and probably find it difficult to stop playing. If you said that you were "hooked to a game", that would suggest that there is a physical connection between you and the game (a connection such as a rope or a cable, for example).
