hook-and-twist

Could you please rephrase this? A crime-novel author is called the modern master of the hook-and-twist.

Thanks!

I don't want to change it, I just don't understand that phrase. That's why I asked you to rephrase it. Please help!

And thanks for the/a. I don't think I am ever going to master those ****** articles, no matter how I try!

'Hook' - something that 'hooks' you into a story, makes it impossible to stop reading.

'Twist' - an unexpected plot turn, 'the twist in the tale'.

Thanks, Nona! I thought it should be something like that, but i wasn't sure. Anyway, I have to get it right, Dan Brown used those words to describe another author. Couldn't afford a mistake!

Thanks again!
