"Honoring ceremony"?

Hi!

If i'm holding a ceremony/party/whatever in somone's honor, what would that be called? I came across "honoring ceremony", but i'm not convinced. I feel like there's something else I could use but i'm forgetting what. Any help?

Under certain circumstances, it could be a 'graduation party" or a 'retirement party' or a 'surprise birthday party'. 'Honoring ceremony' makes sense, but it doesn't sound very natural to me. If there are several people being honored, it could be called a 'reception'.
