Honor

Can you explain me the difference between the following phrases:
"It was a privilege (for me to do it)"
"It was an honor..."
"It was an honor and a privilege...."

I am also interested in other similar expressions (Formal and slang BLOCKED EXPRESSION


Is it possible to say 'A honor'? (Because google hits 20000 sources or something...)

You might have noticed in the google of 'a honor' that the 'a' is not the article (at least in the first pages or two that I looked at), but the name of the top honor roll-- 'the A honor roll'. I don't believe that the speaker distinguishes between 'honor' and 'privilege' or the ways in which they are combined in your examples, Mav-- the phrases are stylistic formulae. Other expressions?
