Homonyms / homophones
It's not often my 9 year old gets stumped by her English homework, but this time, we're both stumped!
Her homework relates to homonyms / homophones. two of the questions were easy
e.g. Hens, ducks / an action against the rules in football (Answer fowl / foul).
The third is
What we stand on / a fault (beginning with the letter "f")
The only thing I can come up with is "foot" and "foot fault" but that's by no means a homophone - or is my grammar knowledge outdated?

Thanks! Yes. This was the answer we got back. Unfortunately, in Ireland where we live, we pronounce "floor" "flow-rr" and flaw very much as it's spelt, which means that even after we know what the answer is supposed to be .... we still don't agree with it!
Oh well. I certainly know where to come next time we come across a similar problem - thanks so much for your help.

My 9 year old sister has to do the exact same piece of homework, and we´re spanish! What was the teacher thinking of! Thanks for the answers, althought i still have no idea how to do the second part on homonyms
