Homographs

Hello
The other day I was talking to a friend of mine, and he started talking about words that have the same spell, but different pronunciation, the Homographs. Then I realized that I didn't know much about it, so I'm here to ask you if there's a list of the major homographs, the most commonly used. Because I looked it up on internet, and just found complete lists with hundreds of words.

Thanks

Mr. M -- is "divers" (adj.) just an alternate spelling of "diverse," or is there a significant difference between them?

Thank you very much Mister Micawber

Well, 'divers' is an old-fashioned word, I think, and according to my dictionary they are different. Or rather, 'diverse' is 'different', while 'divers' is just 'several'.
