Hommage

Is 'hommage' a fancy-dan word for 'homage'? I believe they technically mean the same thing.

And is 'hommage' (with two m's) correctly pronounced as "oh-MAHZH"? The long 'o' is used here, then MAH as in 'ma' followed by the 'zh' sound.

I only know the spelling with one M, but I do say it as you have written it as a noun. It's an oh-MAHZH to the early sciencie fiction films. " It pays hommidge to the early science fiction films.

However, after the word "pay" I tend to say "hommidge." It pays hommidge to the early science fiction films.
