Hi,
1) I wonder whether it is usual to address a person's first name and the initial letter of the middle name, i.e. Homer J. I guess no. In an American cartoon- The Simpsons, I heard the father of Homer's neighbour called Homer "Homer J". So why did he call Home so?
2) By the way, in the same cartoon, Lisa, Homer's little daughter, complained that the pupils have to accept to be taught corporate-sponsored materials. Is this true in (today) USA or other English-speaking countries? Are they embedded advertisements of the corportations?
Thanks!
e. Homer J. I guess no.
