Home-prescribing

Hi

In a book about homeopathy the author writes that sometimes people take too strong remedies and they take them too many which may result in aggravation. Later she adds: These aggravations rarely happen in home-prescribing-situtations.

What does it mean "home-prescribing" situations?
When you take the remedies at home on your own?

Thanks

I think that self-prescribing is probably the term she meant.

That would mean "when I myself decide which remedies to take and in what doses"?

I'm not sure it makes sense to me. Because when you do it on your own you can always overdose.

The author said: These aggravations rarely happen in home-prescribing situations. But in a culture that believes "more is better", it can happen when the person is better but keeps taking more of the remedy

It doesn't make much sense to me, either.
